About the Author
Rashmi Samant is a youth leader, vocal advocate and trained engineer whose work navigates the intersection of global leadership, human rights and cultural resurgence. A graduate of the University of Oxford, she scripted history as the first Indian woman elected President of the Oxford Student Union. Her subsequent trajectory has established her as a formidable voice in international discourse, culminating in her representation of India at the United Nations Consultation on the Status of Women in New York. Recognised as a 30-under-30 impactful youth for her work in the world’s largest elections, Samant is a prolific author of the bestsellers A Hindu in Oxford and Ram Janmabhoomi: The Inspiration for Hindu Resurgence. Her advocacy extends to the highest levels of governance, notably presenting a comprehensive Human Rights Report at the British Parliament’s House of Commons. A Fellow of the Oxford Character Program, the American Jewish Committee and the Young Generation Program, she is a frequent commentator for national media outlets like Times Now, NDTV, CNN and The Times of India. Currently serving as the Executive Director of the Punarnava Group, Samant remains a steadfast voice for marginalised communities. She continues her work in engineering as a PhD scholar at IIT Delhi. She hails from Udupi, Karnataka.
