About the Book

This series is a venture to define and redefine the educational scenario in India. It is a testimony to the bubbling thought process going on in the minds of Indian academicians. Attempts have been made to identify areas of problems and stress in the Indian education scene and to provide viable solutions. An endeavour has been made to place Indian education in the global perspective. The need for the evaluation and its modus operandi has also been discussed. Ethics, values and missing dimensions of our education system have been highlighted.

India is heading towards more and more openness in economic activities as also its education system. As a democratic nation, critical enquiry into its prevalent educational practices is necessary.
