The historical context refers to the circumstances and incidents surrounding an event. This context is formed by everything that, in some way, influences the event when it happens. A fact is always tied to its time: that is, to its time. Therefore, when analyzing events that took place tens, hundreds or thousands of years ago, it is essential to know the historical context to understand them. Otherwise, we would be analyzing and judging what happened in a totally different era with a current perspective. It is a long four-part narrative poem written by Lord Byron. The poem was published between 1812 and 1818. Dedicated to "Ianthe", it describes the travels and reflections of a young man tired of the world, who is disappointed with a life of pleasure and joy and seeks distraction in foreign lands. In a broader sense, it is an expression of felt melancholy and disillusionment for a generation tired of the wars of the post-revolutionary and Napoleonic eras. The title comes from the term childe, a medieval title for a young candidate for chivalry.
